Worship & Music

JOIN US FOR WORSHIP!

Munsey cheerfully welcomes children in each worship service. Our multi-sensory contemporary service, called The Journey meets in the Christian Life Center with pre-worship music beginning at 8:35, the service itself officially beginning at 8:45. We offer an identical service at 11:00.  We also offer two inspiring Traditional Services in our beautiful sanctuary at 8:45 and 11:00.  And we also have a service called “Open Door” in the Melting Pot at 10:45. Special children’s moments are offered  in the Journey and Sanctuary services, and we have special KFC packs with activity sheets that each child is welcome to use during worship.
Children are also welcomed as leaders in worship as they share in choir, in liturgical dance, as scripture readers, communion bearers – on special Children’s Sundays and at various times throughout the year.

JOIN US ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS!

Children’s Choirs & Handbells:  Munsey offers excellent musical training for your children. Our 3 year old-Kindergarten choir meets from 6:00 to 6:30 pm during the school year, followed by “Wiggle Worms” a special time for stories, movements, color bells, crafts, bible stories and more. Our first through fourth graders meet from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Handbell choirs are offered for 4th and 5th graders on Wednesday evenings from 5:15 to 6:00, and our HWY 56 choir for fifth and sixth graders meets from 6:15 to 7:00.
Being a member of a children’s choir is an important part of a child’s development as a whole person. Our choirs focus on providing each child a connection with singing and playing music, with worship in the Church, with being a part of a group with a common purpose, and with service to others. The children’s music ministry is an integral part of the full ministry of music at Munsey.
Our Children’s Choirs – The Sonbeam choir (ages 3-Kindergarten), The Sonrise Singers (1st through 4th grade), and our HWY 56 choir (5th-6th grade)  meet as a part of the Wednesday evening program of activities. The choirs sing regular for the various worship services of the congregation. Regular choirs meet through early April. Enrichment opportunities with drum playing and creative movement are offered during late Spring.
Hallowed Ground – We also offer an intergenerationa class of sacred dance and liturgical movement for children ages three on up. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings during the school year.
